Pet Travel from the
UK Made Simple
Travelling to Europe with your dog or cat can feel confusing, especially since the rules changed after Brexit.
For most UK pets travelling to the EU, you will need an Animal Health Certificate, issued by an Official Veterinarian within the correct time window before travel.
At The Pet Passport Co., we make the process straightforward. We check your pet’s microchip and rabies vaccination details, confirm the travel requirements, and complete the paperwork correctly so you can travel with confidence.

Popular Pet Travel Destinations
We provide detailed guidance for popular destinations across Europe:

What Does Your Pet Need to Travel to the EU?
For most dogs and cats travelling from Great Britain to the EU, your pet will need:
-
A microchip
-
A valid rabies vaccination
-
At least 21 full days between the rabies vaccination and the AHC appointment, unless it is a valid booster
-
An Animal Health Certificate issued within 10 days of entering the EU
-
Tapeworm treatment for dogs travelling to certain countries, including Ireland, Finland, Malta and Norway
We will guide you through the requirements when you book.
Why Choose The Pet Passport Co.?

Our service is designed to be simple, clear and convenient, with home visits available across our covered locations.
You get expert support from start to finish, with your certificate completed by an experienced Official Veterinarian.
Avoid Common Pet Travel Problems
Pet travel issues often happen because of small mistakes, such as:
-
Rabies vaccinations being given too late
-
Incorrect microchip details
-
Certificates being issued outside the valid travel window
-
Missing tapeworm treatment where required
-
Confusion over post-Brexit pet passport rules
We check the key details in advance to reduce the risk of delays, refused travel or last-minute stress.

Do I still need a pet passport?
UK-issued pet passports are no longer valid for travel from Great Britain to the EU. Most pets now need an Animal Health Certificate for each trip.
When should I book my Animal Health Certificate?
Your certificate must be issued within 10 days of entering the EU. We recommend booking as early as possible so we can check your documents and make sure the timing is correct.
How long after a rabies vaccination can my pet travel?
Your pet needs to wait 21 days after a rabies vaccination before we can issue the AHC, unless the vaccination was a valid booster given before the previous vaccine expired.
Do you visit my home?
Yes. Our standard service includes a home visit in covered areas.
Can you help with non-EU travel?
Yes, we can assist with selected export and pet travel documents. Contact us with your destination and travel date.
