What happens at an AHC appointment?
Before your appointment, we ask you to provide your pet and travel details so the paperwork can be prepared in advance.
At the appointment, the Official Veterinarian will check the required information, including your pet’s microchip and rabies vaccination details, and complete the Animal Health Certificate where the requirements are met.
You can then leave with your travel paperwork ready for your journey.
What does my pet need?
Your pet will generally need:
A microchip
A valid rabies vaccination
Evidence of the vaccination history
The correct pet travel documentation
If your pet has had its first rabies vaccination, you must normally wait at least 21 full days before travel.
When should I get my Animal Health Certificate?
Your Animal Health Certificate must be issued before you enter the EU.
It can be used to enter the EU within 10 days of the date it is issued, so your appointment needs to be arranged around your travel date.

Do I need a new AHC every time?
You will normally need a new Animal Health Certificate for each new trip from Great Britain into the EU.
For returning customers, we offer repeat certificates from £119.
