What is an Animal Health Certificate?
An Animal Health Certificate is an official pet travel document used by dogs, cats and ferrets travelling from Great Britain to the EU.
It must be issued by an Official Veterinarian and completed within the correct travel window before your pet enters the EU.
Your pet will normally need:
A readable microchip
A valid rabies vaccination
Evidence of the microchip date
Rabies vaccination records
Your planned travel date
Details of the first EU country you will enter
Following a primary rabies vaccination, your pet must normally wait at least 21 days before travelling to the EU.
