Exporting More Than One Pet from the UK: Paperwork and Planning
Updated: 18 hours ago
Exporting two or more pets from the UK is easier to organise when the paperwork is reviewed together from the start. The destination, species, route and travel dates determine the preparation needed; do not assume that one pet’s documents will cover the others.
Prepare a separate record for each pet
Send the name, species, breed, date of birth and microchip details for every travelling pet, together with the available vaccination, test and treatment records. Keep each document clearly labelled so the team can match it to the correct animal. Pets in the same household can have different preparation histories.
Share the complete journey
Tell us the final destination, any transit countries, the planned departure date and how the pets will travel. Include airline, cargo or relocation-company details where available. Explain whether the owner is travelling with the pets, whether another person will accompany them and whether they are travelling together or on separate bookings.
Confirm the certification route before booking
An Animal Health Certificate for an EU journey and an Export Health Certificate for an overseas relocation serve different purposes. Ask the team to confirm the appropriate pathway for your whole group before selecting a standard AHC appointment. The number of pets, destination and purpose of travel all need to be considered.
Coordinate appointments and costs
Some preparation can be reviewed together, while an individual pet may need a separate check, treatment or supporting result. Allow the team to review every pet before fixing the final appointment plan. Request a quote for the complete group rather than assuming a starting price covers all animals, tests, treatments, permits or transport.
Enquire with the details of every pet
The Pet Passport Co.’s Official Vets support destination-specific export certification and document preparation. Send the destination, itinerary, intended travel date, number of pets and existing records so we can confirm whether we can support the journey and what the veterinary certification will involve.
