Pet Export Health Certificates
Veterinary paperwork for dogs and cats travelling from Great Britain to destinations beyond the EU.
Export certification from £299. Local Official Veterinarians, advance document checks and a plan built around your destination.
A clear plan before your pet travels
Moving abroad with your pet involves several deadlines. Vaccinations, tests, import permission and the final veterinary appointment may all need to happen in a particular order. The Pet Passport Co. helps you establish the certification pathway before the last few days become a rush.
Tell us where your pet is going, its travel history, your proposed dates and any transit countries. We will confirm whether we can support the journey, which records we need and where your certification appointment can take place.
What our pet export service covers
Our Official Veterinarians review the supporting evidence, prepare the appropriate veterinary certificate and complete the identification, examination and certification checks required for the agreed service. Every animal must meet the relevant conditions before a certificate can be signed.
The certificate fee starts from £299. Your quotation will explain the scope for your journey. Vaccinations, laboratory tests, parasite treatments, import permits, transport and additional appointments may have separate costs. Send your plans early so these can be identified before you commit to a tightly timed journey.
How to arrange an Export Health Certificate
1. Share your destination and itinerary
Send your postcode, intended departure date, destination, transit countries, and the number and species of pets. Include whether you are travelling with them and whether ownership will change.
2. Gather the veterinary records
We will ask for the records relevant to your route. These may include microchip evidence, vaccination history, previous test results, treatment records and any issued import permission. Clear, complete records give us time to resolve missing details.
3. Agree the preparation and final appointment
Country requirements determine the sequence. Some journeys need preparation months ahead; others have a short window for the final examination. We will confirm local OV availability and the certification appointment once the pathway is clear.
4. Complete the checks and receive your paperwork
Bring your pet and the requested originals. Your OV completes the agreed checks and signs the certificate when its conditions are satisfied. Keep the issued documents accessible for the carrier and arrival authorities.

Questions about pet export certificates
Do I need an AHC or an EHC?
An Animal Health Certificate normally covers eligible non-commercial dog, cat or ferret travel from Great Britain into the EU. Many other destinations require a different veterinary certification route. Tell us about commercial movements, ownership changes or separate owner and pet journeys so we can identify the appropriate pathway.
Can my usual vet carry out the preparation?
Share the records from your usual practice. We can explain the evidence needed for the agreed certification service, including preparation that may need to be completed with your practice before the final OV appointment.
When should I contact you?
As soon as you know your proposed destination. Contact us before fixing the final veterinary appointment: tests, permits or waiting periods may affect when your pet can travel. An urgent appointment cannot remove a destination’s mandatory preparation.
Does the certificate include pet transport?
Our service is veterinary certification and document preparation. Confirm transport, airline acceptance, handling arrangements and entry formalities with the appropriate providers. Give us the complete itinerary so the veterinary paperwork reflects the journey.
